Postemergent herbicide

1. A herbicide that is applied to control weeds after their germination and emergence from the soil; a herbicide that kills plants after they have grown to seedling stage or beyond. See also preemergent herbicide, herbicide, nonselective herbicide, and selective herbicide.
RoundUp is one brand of postemergent herbicide.
