Sand court

1. A tennis court made by laying a loosely-woven synthetic turf material on asphalt or concrete, which is then overlaid with sand; the sand fills in the turf material, providing a cushioned playing surface. See also Clay court, Fast dry court, Grass court, and Nonporous court.
