Acer negundo
The opposite leaves of Boxelder are often trifoliate but may contain up to nine leaflets, with each of the coarsely serrated, light green leaflets attached to the rachis via a short petiolule. By late summer, the leaflets may have scorched margins, turn yellow-brown, and partially abscise when exposed to prolonged drought conditions.
