Boxelder, a trifoliate and rapidly growing maple that is widespread in recently cut-over fields, urban wastelands, and natural watershed areas, is moderately attractive when in flower in early spring, displaying a similar lime-chartreuse cast that is also present in Sugar Maple at about the same time.
