One of the more heralded plants to emerge in recent years was Blue Panda Corydalis, but its intolerance of Summer heat and inability to "root in before it died" led to its rapid decline with gardeners. Its cousin (Yellow Corydalis) on the other hand, is a much better choice that often self-sows itself around the shade garden.
