Most of the shrub dogwoods and tree dogwoods have this type of white or creamy-white inflorescence (flat-topped or moderately hemispherical cymes) as their "flower", rather than the large, showy, perimeter-bract type of inflorescence that is found in Flowering Dogwood and Kousa Dogwood, or the small yellow umbels of Cornelian Cherry Dogwood.
