Acer palmatum
Japanese Maple

A few cutleaf forms of Japanese Maple have leaves with narrow sinuses and wide lobes; in this scenario, site placement near perennials such as Delphinium (partial sun), Rodgersia (partial shade), or Darmera (also known as Peltiphyllum; shade) would give a morphological echo of foliage in the landscape.
