Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Aurea Sungold'
Aurea Sungold Falsecypress

The awls (miniature, triangular-shaped, pointy and prickly foliage) of Sawara Falsecypress occur on thin semi-pendulous stems, giving this species the alternative common name of Threadleaf Falsecypress. The cultivar 'Aurea Sungold', while attractive in Spring, fades to a chartreuse-green by late Summer, even if sited in full sun.
