Catalpa speciosa
Northern Catalpa

The large inflorescences of Northern Catalpa last about two weeks in the tree's canopy, then fall to the lawn underneath and speckle it with individual white flowers. Other massive trees that put on such a magnificent floral display include Common Horsechestnut and Yellow Buckeye in early Spring, Tulip Tree and Southern Magnolia in late Spring and early Summer, and Japanese Pagodatree in mid- to late Summer.
