Bluebeard has blue-purple inflorescences in August and September that are hard to photograph due to their fine texture, but attract many bees and butterflies to the garden. This shrub echoes the appearance of the perennial Russian Sage, in that both have attractive green-silver foliage in spring and wispy purple-blue flowers in mid- to late summer.
