Bluebeard, as it is also known, blooms on new wood (like the shrubs Buddleia, Callicarpa, Cephalanthus, Clethra, Hamamelis virginiana, Heptacodium miconioides, Hibiscus syriacus, and Hydrangea paniculata), and can either be sheared back, or rejuvenated nearly to the ground in early spring, if so desired. |
