Carpinus caroliniana
American Hornbeam

The oval to elliptical leaves of American Hornbeam, with acuminate tips, impressed veins, and doubly serrated margins, is very similar to European Hornbeam, but the latter generally has a thicker leaf blade (not wider, but thicker).
