Calycanthus floridus
Common Sweetshrub

The floral color of Common Sweetshrub is usually red, maroon, red-brown, or chocolate, but yellow flowers may rarely be seen. Flowers occur most prolifically in May as the shiny, opposite foliage is expanding, and continue sporadically into early Summer.
