In this mixed planting of various varieties and cultivars of Japanese Barberry, the foliage color diversity within the species is demonstrated (left to right = Berberis thunbergii [species form], B. t. var. atropurpurea 'Crimson Pygmy', B. t. 'Aurea', B. t. 'Kobold', B. t. var. atropurpurea 'Rose Glow', and B. t. var. atropurpurea).
