'Professor Anton Kippenberg' (the middle name is often not used in the nursery trade) is perhaps the best New York Aster, with foliage that is usually devoid of powdery mildew and with medium-blue to blue-purple ray flowers that are prolifically arranged atop a 12 to 15 inch tall perennial (the lavendar-blue shading shown is an artifact of photography without a blue filter).
