Asimina triloba
Pawpaw

Pawpaw is a small tree that should be utilized more often in small landscapes for its large, bold, tropical-like foliage. It prefers some afternoon shade and moist but well-drained soils for optimum performance. In the wild, it often forms colonies via a spreading underground root system.
