Alnus glutinosa 'Pyramidalis'
Columnar Common Alder

Common Alder, like most members of the Birch Family, has a relatively long petiole with a wide leaf base, causing it to flutter in the breeze. However, unlike other Birch Family members that have an acute apex, Common Alder has a notch at the apex, once the foliage is fully expanded.
