Compact European Cranberrybush is a good choice for Winter-persistent red fruits, which achieve their greatest ornamental appeal in late Autumn and early Winter (following leaf abscission but before the fruits are partially shriveled by Winter dessication). The clustered red fruits give this shrub its common name of "cranberrybush" even though it is a viburnum.
