Wayfaringtree Viburnum has prominent veins on the underside of its leaves, appearing as if a tourniquet were tied around the petiole and thus causing the veins to swell. Among viburnums, this trait is also exhibited in its progeny Lantanaphyllum Viburnum, but this latter shrub has leaves that are much longer than Wayfaringtree Viburnum.
