Vaccinium corymbosum
Highbush Blueberry

Highbush Blueberry, a member of the Ericaceous Family, is one of the most stringent for requiring very acidic soils (pH range of 4.5 to 5.5 is usually recommended) in which to grow and thrive. Although highest fruit yields occur in full sun with supplemental irrigation, shrubs are very productive in partial sun to partial shade. Recently, cultivars for landscaping have been selected for their vibrant fall color, rather than fruit yield.
