'Gentsch White', a dwarf cultivar of Canadian Hemlock, achieves its best white-tipped color with the cooler temperatures of Autumn and Winter, while its Spring growth almost appears as a normal green. This cultivar must be placed in partial shade to avoid sunscorch, and periodic shearing in late Winter or early Spring is recommended to promote compactness and encourage more tip growth.
