Chinese Lilac, a hybrid of Persian Lilac and Common Lilac, has morphological traits that are intermediate between those of its two parents (inflorescence size and number, leaf size and shape, stem diameter, and overall height and width). However, its foliage is susceptible to powdery mildew infestations by August, as are both of its parents.
