Japanese Spirea occurs in various forms, due to the availability of varieties, hybrids with other species, and cultivars. Much variability occurs with respect to mature height and width, foliage size and color, floral size and color, bloom time, rebloom potential, and degree of twigginess. The form shown here (possibly Spiraea japonica var. alpina) has diminutive leaves with symmetrical branching that combine to yield formal globes of foliage. |
