Sambucus canadensis
American Elder

Elderberry often has an arching, twisting, straggly appearance due to its limber stems, and must be periodically sheared or pruned to keep it looking somewhat tidy and dense. This specimen has been pruned in the past and its isolated status in full sun makes it very attractive when in late Spring flower.
