Mealycup Sage is treated as a functional annual in the landscape, although in mild Winters it may survive as a tender perennial. Increasingly popular, it must be utilized in a mass planting to achieve the proper flowering effect, as its spikey inflorescences are not nearly as dense as those of the true perennial sages.
