Saccharum ravennae
Ravenna Grass

The large, arching, basal foliage of Ravenna Grass reaches about three feet tall and wide by mid-Summer, but is a prelude to the massive floral display that this ornamental grass will put on in late Summer. This plant, alternatively known as Erianthus ravennae, is also known by the common names of Plume Grass and Hardy Pampas Grass, being a northern substitute for the most showy of all southern ornamental grasses (Pampas Grass, or Cortaderia selloana).
