The spherical fruits of Orange Coneflower slowly shatter in Winter and the following season, spreading the easily germinated seeds of this prolific species by self-sowing. In combination with the rapidly expanding crowns, a colony of 'Goldsturm' will erupt within two to three years of initial transplanting, unless a combination of mulching, weeding, and crown division is practiced.
