Rhodotypos scandens
Black Jetbead

The white blossoms of Black Jetbead occur in late Spring and are unusual in having four petals (and also four fused green sepals which are retained as a tan calyx behind the black Winter fruits), since most Rose Family members have five petals (and five sepals) in their perianth.
