Members of the outstanding Northern Lights Series of Azaleas are noted for their zone 3 cold hardiness, extremely showy flowers in a good range of colors (although no reds), complete abscission of leaves in autumn (often with good yellow fall color) and adaptability to alkaline pH soils.
