Douglas Fir has "selections" from the Rocky Mountains that exhibit a distinctly blue evergreen foliage that are hardy to zone 4, making it (along with selections of White Spruce and Limber Pine) an alternative to the much more in-demand (and sometimes sold-out) Colorado Blue Spruce.
