Prunus virginiana 'Schubert'
Schubert Common Chokecherry

Schubert Cherry and its sport cultivar 'Canada Red' are unique among all red-foliaged ornamental woody plants, in that their emergent spring foliage is a normal green, but by summer, the leaves transition to shades of purple, burgandy, and red, and finally fade to bronze by late summer. Most red-foliaged ornamentals start out in reverse order with the most intense red-purple color first, then fade to bronze or green as the season progresses.
