Pinus strobus
Eastern White Pine

Even the immature light green cones of White Pine show their characteristic splotches of silvery white that dapple the surface of the fruits. With maturity, the fruits become slightly curved, their scales reflex to release the hidden seeds, and the brown cones with silvery tones fall to the ground.
