Eastern White Pine

White Pine, a valuable timber tree in New England and Appalachia, loses its formal pyramidal shape of youth as it reaches maturity, where its upper canopy is often scalloped, or portions of its entire canopy may become damaged by storms or distorted by shading from other trees.
