Norway Spruce is one of several members of the Pine Family that is grown as an ornamental evergreen tree in the landscape, and is sheared at the nursery to obtain a more full and dense appearance in youth, when growth tends to be sparse and open. This is probably the toughest, most widely adaptable evergreen tree for urban and rural plantings.
