Oxydendrum arboreum
Sourwood

The alternate leaves of Sourwood have a shiny dark green luster during Summer, and later turn to a flaming red in Autumn; however, in neutral to alkaline pH soils, the Summer leaf color is medium green (as shown here) or chlorotic.
