Ostrich Fern

The large, upright fronds of Ostrich Fern supposedly resemble the tail feathers of an ostrich, and are a much lighter green than those of most other landscape ferns. This species sometimes resides under the scientific names of Matteucia pensylvanica or Matteucia struthiopteris var. pensylvanica.
