The berry-laden stems of Winterberry may be cut from the branches of mature shrubs in late Autumn and early Winter and brought indoors. However, the fruits of Winterberry may serve as a popular source of food for deer, squirrels, and birds, so if harvesting for interior appeal is planned, this might be best achieved in mid-Autumn, with placement of the freshly cut stems in a bucket of water in a cool place. |
