Inkberry is a quicker-growing substitute for Boxwood and adapts readily to shady or wet sites, but becomes somewhat leggy with age (not shown here, as this is a younger specimen with foliage to the base). The cultivar 'Green Magic' is a compact cultivar that shows its legginess the least with age, with 'Densa', 'Nordic', and 'Shamrock' good alternative choices for this criteria. 'Compacta' and the species form get moderately large and quite leggy with age. |
