This image demonstrates how, from a distance, the relatively small flowers of the completely deciduous Arnold Promise Witchhazel are more easily seen when a solid green background is present, in this case contributed by Taxus, a common evergreen shrub. Mature plants of Witchhazel can be harvested for cut stems in Winter that, when brought indoors, easily fill a room with floral fragrance, as this single shrub did to the entire polyhouse. |
