Common Witchhazel is the last shrub to bloom in Autumn, flowering in November and December, and often retaining dead foliage which obscures the floral effect. An evergreen background (shrubs, trees, English Ivy, even a painted wall) would benefit viewing of the tiny but abundant yellow blossoms in many situations.
