The flowers of Vernal Witchhazel occur in clusters along the second-year wood, with petals that unfold on warm Winter days and roll up quickly when the cold returns. Floral colors may be red, copper, orange, or yellow within this species, and are pleasantly fragrant. Stems can be cut in mid-Winter and brought indoors to a water-filled vase, either when already in full flower or for forcing. |
