Dodecatheon meadia
Shooting Star

This particular specimen of Dodecatheon meadia has reflexed petals that are white, but variation within this species from Eastern North America causes lavendar or magenta petals to also be found. Interestingly, the species found in Western North America (Dodecatheon pulchellum) only has lavendar and magenta petals.
