While most fruits of Gray Dogwood have a creamy-white color, they occasionally display a porcelain-blue coloration, and rarely have a gorgeous purple-lavendar hue, as shown here. In all cases, heavy fruit set only results when the shrubs have been left unpruned for several years, with the branches developing a spreading effect.
