Bottlebrush Buckeye, while slow-growing in youth, becomes a sprawling, strongly multistemmed, vigorous shrub at maturity, with a tendency to heavily sucker and have its peripheral branches take root as they lean into the ground. For these reasons, it is a poor choice to site in narrow spaces, or even at spacious entranceways (as shown here) unless peripheral pruning is regularly practiced.
